The first day I went to a workshop (SmartObjects) where I met several people with whom I conversed throughout the conference and afterwards each day. My presentation was not until the last day of the conference, so up to that point I only had to sit in on sessions. There were several presentations from researchers whose work I have often read, so it was an excellent experience to be able to see them present in person and be able to speak to them. In particular, Rosalind Picard, Ehsan Hoque, and Peter Robinson are all leaders in affective computing and computer vision research so it was a pleasure to meet them. My presentation on Wednesday was a good experience as well, somewhat intimidating because of the high-profile audience, but I am glad to have done it.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I had an excellent time at IUI 2015.
