SIGAI Awards
As part of our ongoing mission to recognize the achievements of academic, professional and student members we give out three major annual awards. Follow the links below to find out more about these awards and the submission procedures.
The ACM/SIGAI Autonomous Agents Research Award
Joint AAAI/ACM SIGAI Doctoral Dissertation Award
ACM SIGAI Industry Award
Other Awards AI Related Awards from ACM
As the largest computing professional society the ACM regularly gives out a number of major awards to academics, practitioners, and students. For more information about these awards see the ACM Main Site at: https://awards.acm.org/. Many of these awards have been given to individuals working in AI and related areas, a few of which we highlight below.
A. M. Turing Award
ACM’s most prestigious technical award is given to an individual selected for contributions of a technical nature made to the computing community. The contributions should be of lasting and major technical importance to the computer field. A number of distinguished researchers from the AI Community, listed below, have been honored with the Turing Award. See also the complete list of Turing Award winners.

ACM-Infosys Foundation Award
The ACM – Infosys Foundation Award in the Computing Sciences recognizes personal contributions by young scientists and system developers to a contemporary innovation that, through its depth, fundamental impact and broad implications, exemplifies the greatest achievements in the discipline. The inaugural award went to a widely recognized AI researcher, see also the complete list of ACM – Infosys Foundation Award recipients.
Daphne Koller was awarded the first ACM-Infosys Foundation Award in Computing Sciences in 2007 for her groundbreaking work combining relational logic and probability to allow probabilistic reasoning to be applied to a wide range of applications, including robotics, economics, and biology.
Allen Newell Award
The ACM/AAAI Allen Newell Award was founded in honor of Allen Newell, one of the founders of the field of AI. It is presented to an individual selected for career contributions that have breadth within computer science, or that bridge computer science and other disciplines. See more details about the Allen Newell Award.
